Doctor Kaarthik Speaks Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) is a condition that results from prolonged use of digital screens, including computers, smartphones, and tablets. Symptoms of CVS include eye strain, dry eyes, blurred vision, headache, and neck and shoulder pain. People who spend a significant amount of time using digital screens, such as office workers, students, and gamers, are at risk of developing CVS.

To prevent CVS, it is important to take regular breaks and to engage in activities that give the eyes a rest, such as looking at distant objects or closing the eyes for a few minutes. Additionally, you should adjust your workstation to minimize glare on the screen and to keep the screen at a comfortable distance and angle.

It is also recommended to use good lighting in the room, reducing screen brightness, use a antiglare screen, adjusting text size and contrast, and updating monitor for better resolution.

Lastly, using artificial tears or lubricating eye drops can help to soothe dry eyes caused by prolonged screen use.
